Charles E. Brookhart Dies Suddenly Tuesday Near Gibbs, Aged 69
Charles Edward Brookhart of Gibbs, formerly of north of Novelty, died suddenly at 3:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 19, 1954, at the home three miles south of his sister, Mrs. Herbert Stuckey, where he was spending the day. He was 69 years old.
His body was brought to the Hudson Funeral Home here, where funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. Merle J. White, pastor of the Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Linville Cemetery.
Mr. Brookhart is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Anna Brookhart; three sons by a former marriage, Ogle Brookhart of Edina and William Brookhart and Charle Brookhart of Keokuk, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Hubert Green and Mrs. Louise Stuckey at whose home death came; nineteen grandchidlren, twelve great-grandchildren and a step-grandson.
Charles Edward Brookhart was born Jan. 13, 1885, near Queen City, the son of Sylvester and Sarah Manning Brookhart.
Mr. Brookhart, a retired farmer, was a member of the Baptist Church. He had lived in Gibbs the last five or six years.
