Obituary: Bernard Beckmann Sr., 89, of Louisville died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East. He was a retired employee of the Louisville Gas & Electric Co. and a member of the St. Rita Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Beckmann, and a daughter, Emma Jean Barnett. He is survived y his sons, Bernard Jr. and Robert J. Beckmann; a daughter, Gayle Beckmann; sister, Louise Ridgeway; 10 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren. His funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rita Catholic Church, 8709 Preston Hwy., with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Sunday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2725 Preston Hwy. Memorial gifts may to to the American Heart Association.
