Billy Joe was born on October 15, 1930, in Littlefield, Texas to Arlin and Delear (Walker) Kilpatrick.
He married Delma Clark on August 31, 1954 in Onida, South Dakota.
"Papa K" was born in Littlefield, and then moved to Alabama.
He served in the United States Navy.
After he was honorably discharged, he moved to South Dakota to help his father farm.
Billy Joe then moved to Big Spring where he spent most of his life.
He loved rebuilding old T-models, restoring his favorite old '49 Ford truck, and loved spending time fishing in Del Rio.
He was a loving husband, daddy, granddad and friend.
Survivors include, his wife, Delma Kilpatrick of Big Spring; two sons, Mike Kilpatrick of Arab, Alabama, and Craig Kilpatrick and wife Teresa of Coahoma; two daughters, Shiela Fuqua and Denise Currie both of Big Spring; a son-in-law, Glenn Fuqua of Big Spring; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Rogerson of Albertville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Marvarene Brodecker and Rogene Kilpatrick.
The family suggests memorials be made to American Heart Association, Dallas, Texas.
