Wallace Sears

A celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Westside Christian Church in Eugene for Wallace B. "Wally" Sears of Eugene, who died July 30 of age-related causes. He was 91.

He was born June 19, 1920, in Fort Bragg, Calif., to Samuel and Petronella Symons Sears. He married Pauline Lewis on Dec. 14, 1941, in Eugene.

He graduated from Oregon State University. He served in a railroad battalion in Europe during World War II. He worked as a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Terry Lee of Eugene; a son, William of Vancouver, Wash.; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A daughter, Wally Jo Tharp, died in 2002.
