A mass of Christian burial for Robert M. Adams, 88, of Monroe City, was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 28 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rev. John Groner was in charge. Burial was in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Mr. Adams died at 6:43 a.m. Sunday, January 25, 1981, at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was born January 23, 1893 in Franklin County, Mo, to George and Ginerva (sic) Williams Adams. He married Mary Virginia Thomas January 29, 1913 in Monroe City. She died June 30, 1979. Surviving are one son, Roy, of Monroe City; three grandchildren: five great-grandchildren. He attend Holy Rosary Schools, was a member of Holy Rosary Chruch and was a retired farmer.
Garner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements where the rosary was recited at 3:30 by the Daughters of Isabella and at 7:30 p.m. by the church parish. Pallbearers were Paul Quinn. Gary Yager, Tom Hays, John Mudd, Don Madden, and Tim Kendrick.
