Max Chamberlin, 52 died suddenly at his home west of Paw Paw Wednesday night, April 20th. As a resident of that community since 1920, he has won almost universal acquaintance and respect as a citizen and fruit grower.
He was born in Decatur, September 28, 1902 the son of Fred and Alice Chamberlin. He spent his childhood and school days in and around Porter and Lawton and later attended Lawton High School and Ferris Institute. In 1921 he married Gladys Castner also of Lawton.
With pride he operated his farms, west of Paw Paw, and enjoyed his hobbies of hunting and fishing whenever possible.
In his immediate family he is survived by his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Virginia, Kalamazoo: his mother Mrs. Alice Chamberlin, Paw Paw; one sister, Dorothy, Chicago; and a host of friends who will regret his untimely death.
The funeral was held in the Prindle Funeral Home, Lawton, last Sunday afternoon with Rev. McDonald officiating. Internment was made in the Oakgrove cemetery in Lawton.
