Joan was the daughter of Henrietta (Harriet) Honold Loving. Granddaughter of Charles Paul Honold and Emma Dix.

Daughter of Rolla Loving, who left his family in 1929 to get a pack of cigarettes, never to return.

Sister of Colonel Roger Loving, who served with General Douglas MacArthur in WWII and Korean wars.

Joan graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to intern at Cooke County General Hospital in Chicago.

Married Robert Bischoff in June 1955 and bore a son Michael in February of 1956.

Strong in opinion, and independent in spirit and mind, Joan overcame many of the difficulties in her life to lead a successful and self fulfilling one. She traveled endlessly seeing much of the world she wanted to and found love in her life when least expected.

After a difficult divorce in 1980, she proved that you can find love again and married a second time at the age of 72.

Joan was lost to those who loved her when least expected or anticipated.

We miss her spirit, drive, determination, fortitude and persistence.

Although she did not know it, she was an example and inspiration to many.

Although her ashes are now at rest, we doubt her spirit is. There are too many things to do...yet so little time.

RIP Joanie.
