Mrs. Richards was born in Crawford county June 16, 1862, the daughter of Isaaih and Lucretia Rich. She came to Jefferson county with her parents at the age of eight and had been a resident ever since.
She fell last Monday evening while walking across the floor and broke her hip. Her condition was serious from the first, and she succumbed last night.
She was married in 1889 to R.A. Richards. Her husband died in 1936.
Surviving are four sons, and two daughters.
The sons are Arthur "P.R." Richards, Everett Richards and Walter Richards of Mt. Vernon and Lester Richards of Chicago. The daughters are Mrs. Ruth Myers and Mrs. Stella Crocker of Mt. Vernon.
Also surviving are three children by her first marriage, to Sam Williams. They are John Williams and Jim Williams of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Vina Franks of West Frankfort.
