Samuel Lee "Brother" Boles Jr., 83, of Elastic Plant Road, Stuart (Dry Pond Community), died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at his home.

A Patrick County native, he was born Nov. 3, 1920, to Samuel Lee Boles Sr. and Edna Bishop Boles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Boles and Dessie Boles Mills Vipperman, and a brother, William "Buck" Boles.

He served in the Army during World War II, and he was a member of Mayo Mountain Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Virginia Hall Boles of the home; one sister, Iowa Boles Anderson of Claudville; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moody Funeral Home chapel in Stuart with the Rev. David Heath officiating. Burial will be in the Church of Christ cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.

Samuel Lee "Brother" Boles Jr., 83, of Elastic Plant Road, Stuart (Dry Pond Community), died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at his home.

A Patrick County native, he was born Nov. 3, 1920, to Samuel Lee Boles Sr. and Edna Bishop Boles.
