Katharina's parents are unknown to me.

Katharina Nett (1836-1858; FAG# 74053759) married John Achter (1832-1908) about 1856 in Germany. The ship "Charlotte A. Stamler" departed Antwerp, Belgium and arrived in New York, New York on 03 July 1857 with Catharina Achter (Katharina of this FAG; age 21). Catharina/Katharina was travelling with her husband Johann Achter (age 24), his mother Anna Achter (age 59), Johann's brothers Johann (known as George, age 21) & Heinrich (age 19); & Johann's sister Margaretha (age 13).

Katharina is likely about 3 months pregnant when she travels across the Atlantic Ocean. On 18 Jan 1858, a daughter, Maria "Mary Ann" Achter, was born to Katharina and Johann. Sadly, six days later, Katharina passed away at the age of 22 in Calumet County, Wisconsin and was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marytown, Calumet County, Wisconsin.

Katharina's widower Johann/John married a second time in 1861 to Anna Kath Gross (~1835-1874; FAG# 50271501). They provided at least six more siblings for Katharina's daughter Mary Ann. Anna Kath Achter died 06 Mar 1874. Johann/John married a third time in 1875 to Mary Elizabeth Franzen (1834-1907; FAG# 50271506). They provided at least two more siblings for Katharina's daughter Mary Ann. Marie Elizabeth Achter died on 29 Apr 1907. Johann/John died on 12 Oct 1908. Johann/John and his other two wives are buried in Saint Charles Cemetery, Charlesburg, Calumet County, Wisconsin.

Johann and Katharina's daughter Mary Ann married Jacob Berchem of Prussia in 1877. They provided Katharina with at least ten grandchildren. Mary Ann (1858-1932; FAG# 42716587) and her husband Jacob (1853-1902; FAG# 42716639) are also buried in St. Charles' Cemetery.

Also buried in St. Mary's Cemetery where Katharina is buried are her niece, Anna Katharina Achter (1865-1865; FAG# 74055088) and her niece-in-law Barbara Wirth Achter (1867-1901; FAG# 78331097).
