Marion David Shippy, 82, of Fruitland, passed away July 10, 2011 at home of natural causes.

He was the fourth child of Paul and Maggie Shippy, born in Cleo Springs, Okla., on Feb. 9, 1929.

Marion is survived by his wife, Eleanor Shippy; 10 children, Linda Shippy, LaVerne Rossiter, David Shippy, Judy Thornton, Edward Shippy, Maria Barker, Danny Shippy, Paul Shippy, Patric Shippy and Maryhelen Zoellner; 48 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one sister, Alma Jerome; and two brothers, Pat Shippy and Elbert Shippy.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Maggie Shippy; his first wife, Ina Faye Eells (deceased in 1955); his second wife, Lois Laverne Milburn (deceased in 1985); four daughters, Mavis Ann, Colleen Ina, Loretta Lynn and Mabel Sue; four sons, Jimmy Dean, Mickey Mike, Daniel Loera, and Martin Loera; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Leona Eells; and three brothers, Jimmy Shippy, Ira Shippy and Van Shippy.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14 at Peaceful Valley Cemetery, Caldwell under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dakan Chapel.
