“Enlisted for three years, August 9th 1862. Died in Regimental hospital near Fort Stevens at the defenses of Washington, north of the Potomac, March 18th 1863, of typhoid pneumonia. Enlisted in Company A, Vermont 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment on 01 Sep 1862. Mustered out on 18 Mar 1863.
