William,"Will" Wilson was a farmer of tobacco in Blackwater ,VA where he was born. The house he grew up in still exists. The tobacco barn is there too.
He moved to C.R.Daniels,Maryland and worked in the mill there. When he retired he moved to Rogersville ,Va. where he lived until he passed away at 66 years old...way too soon.
He was the father of 15 children and married to Doney Ethel Willis/Wilson. He called her "Hammie"....short for Ruhamma....which was his mother's name. We don't know why he called her that. They named one of their daughters,Ruhamma Elizabeth, after his mother.
At the time I write this, there are only two surviving children; a son,William Hamp and a daughter, Bertha Mae Shugars,Trent.
He also has many grand and great-grandchildren.
