Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, march 25, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 24, at Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Edward was born Oct. 31, 1904, in Iron Mountain, Mich., the son of Frank and Mary Renkiewicz. he grew up and attended school in Boyne Falls.
On June 21, 1930, he married the former Sophia Piekarski in Hamtramck. Sophia preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1990.
Edward worked at Ford Motor Co. as an electrician for five years. In 1933, he moved to Horton Bay, where he owned and operated his own farm for more than 60 years.
He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Matthew (Bernadine) McNeely of Brown Deer, Wis., Doloresa Funk of Las Vegas, Mrs. Edwin (Virginia) Gambrell of Midland, Patricia Renkiewicz of Pellston, Mrs. Leslie (Mary) Dieffenbach of Groveland, Fla.; five sons, Edward Jr. of Boyne City, Michael of Saline, Mich., Richard of Canton, Rudolph of Ypsilanti, Raymond of Ironton; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Eugene, also by a granddaughter, Heather Renkiewicz.
