R.I.P.
Rodney Balfa (born ca. 1934) was a Cajun musician (vocals, guitar, harmonica). He died with his brother Will Balfa in 1979 in a car crash.
In Groups: The Balfa Brothers
His music made a great impact on America, especially the SE region. His home style version of "Oh, Madeleine" is one of the greatest songs in folk music.

Note:
My maternal ancestors were French-Americans. Rev. Pierre Robert immigrated in 1686 from Switzerland with his small family to the French Santee Colony near Charleston, SC. They were French-Americans for 100 years until they assimilated into the American mainstream by the end of the American Revolution in the 1780's.
Then, they were just Americans. They helped make American GREAT!
They are gone from the visible stage of life but their graves remain among us so we can remember them and their works glorify God.
In Observance of the Arizona Centennial, 1912--2012
