BIO:
Born the fifth son and ninth child of Rufus C. and Grace (Billings) Hovey, born in Brookfield, VT, Nov. 13, 1812.

He married first, in Albany, VT, Nov. 26, 1833, Emeline Chamberlain, daughter of Eli and Sally (Stanley) Chamberlain. She was born in Albany, VT, Nov. 1812; died in Albany, VT, without issue, July 5, 1834.

He married second, in Brownington, VT, Nov. 28, 1835, Ann Bliss Gross, daughter of Col. Gilbert and Esther Burgess (Hilliard) Gross. She was born in Brownington, Vt, April 3, 1818; died in Newbury, VT, March 17, 1865.

He died in Albany, VT, Feb. 15, 1843.

Merchant. Member of State Legislature in 1841, and much esteemed by all who knew him for his amiable character.

1. Henrv La Fayette, born Jan. 25, 1838; died Feb. 25, 1841.
