Sarah Elizabeth Thompson of Dayton, Ohio was born on August 15, 1921 to Henry and Delia Tucker in Fayetteville, Tennessee. She departed this life on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the age of 87.
Mrs. Thompson was a faithful member of Greater Allen A. M. E. Church all her life and fondly remembered going to church with her father at very young age.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Altar Guild, Mass Choir, So-Ri-Lit, Greater Allen Bowling League, Ladies Organ Club and Ladies Aid.
Sarah loved playing the piano and organ. She taught many students and adults. She was a former pianist and organist at Greater Allen A. M. E. Church.
Sarah truly enjoyed with her departed husband. Charles, attending all the sporting events of their children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years. Charles E. Thompson Sr. her second son, William D. Thompson, Her mother and father, Henry & Delia Tucker, brothers, James, Albert, Henry, Elgie Tucker and sister, Ruby Tucker Wilson.
A loving mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, she leaves 2 sons, Charles Jr. (Beulah T.), Michael A. Sr. (Maeda E.); 5 grandchildren: Rachel E. Reuben T. Sr., Michael A. Jr., Maechelle V. and Marcus V.; 5 great-grandchildren, Kevin, Raytea, Rachel, Reuben Jr., James Michael; sister, Virginia Nobles, sisters-in-law, Louise Thompson & Geraldine Tucker, devoted niece, who cared for Sarah over the year, Kim Wilson-Marbury; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
