Funeral will be at noon Wednesday in Caldwell's Colonial Mortuary, with private entombment in Portland Memorial Mausoleum. Mr. Tipton, who resided at 3421 NE Peerless Place, was born Feb. 21, 1901, in New Mexico and moved to Portland 33 years ago. He worked 30 years for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1965. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Corbett Grange, Troutdale Rod and Gun Club and Metropolitan Veteran Club. Survivors include Mr. Tipton's wife, Mary G.; one son, Frank A. of Denver; two daughters, Frances A. Stiller of Vancouver, Wash., and Jeanne Tobie Quan of Portland; two sisters, Gladys Tipton of Salem and Lois Beck of Independence, and seven grandchildren.
