Verda was born August 10, 1924 to Mark and Violet Pulley in American Fork, Utah. She died July 23, 2011 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She married Gordon Withers while he was stationed at Shreveport, LA during World War II on May 29, 1943.

Verda is survived by husband, Gordon; children, Jearl (Teresa), Jeanette Sandstrom, Danny (Barbara), Deann (Dennis) Nielsen; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; infant son, Jerry; and step-father, David P. Rockwell.

Mom was very loving and kind and focused on her family. The times she enjoyed most were those spent with all her family, gathered together at her home and holidays were her favorite time of year. She loved creating beautiful crafts and dolls to give to her grandchildren and special friends.

The family would like to thank Beehive Homes and Sunbrook Hospice for their loving care.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale, Utah. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Goff Mortuary.
Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
