INJURIES FATAL TO HUNTINGBURG MAN

Glenn (Sam) Kemp, 40, painter and paperhanger of Huntingburg died at 6!5 p.m., Monday, May 9 in the Stork Hospital of head injuries received Saturday night.
Mr. Kemp and his wife, Ruth, were en route to Yankeetown when they had trouble with the carburetor on their car just this side the Dubois-Spencer county line on highway 45. Mr. Kemp was standing on the running board as they attempted to drive on into Dale when he fell off, striking his head on the concrete road.
Besides his wife he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kemp, sr.; three brothers, Jack, Neal and Billy, all of Huntingburg; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ruby Schnarr, of Jasper, and grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Heller and Mrs. Louise Kemp, of Huntingburg.
The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Schmutzler Funeral Home, followed by interment in Fairmount cemetery. Rev. Theo. F. Schumacher of Salen E and R church officated.
Mr. Kemp was born near this city of Sept. 27, 1908 and was the eldest son of William and Sophia (Heller) Kemp. July 6, 1940 he was married to Ruth Barnett of Yanktown, who was his able assistant in much of the papering part of their business. He was well liked by all who knew him because he was always friendly and a good worker. Most people knew him best as "Sam".

August 1932 Sam was arrested for Bootlegging.
