Desmond, loving father of Mrs. Agnes Barr, Mrs. Patricia Dumesnil, Michael Desmond and Miss Bernadette Desmond, idolized grandfather of Robert and Paul Dumesnil, beloved son of the late Johanna and Timothy Desmond, loving brother of Mrs. Ellen Desmond, Mrs. Delia Desmond, Miss Margaret Desmond and the late Mrs. Mary Ann Harte, Mrs. Johanna O'Brien and Timothy Desmond; a native of County Cork, Ireland; retired inspector, S.F.P.D.; a member of the Widows and Orphans' Aid Assn. S.F.P.D.; past president of the Dolphin Swimming and Rowing Club, and a member of the Holy Name Society of Saint Monica's Church.
The funeral will take place Friday October 22 at 10:15 a.m., from the Memorial Chapels of Carew & English, Masonic at Golden Gate, thence to Saint Monica's Church, Geary blvd. at 23rd ave., where a Solemn Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of his soul, commencing at 10:45 a.m. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery.
