MRS. ALBERT OMMEN
Died on May 9, 1915, at the Chatsworth Hospital, following an operation for appendicitis, aged 37 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Edith E. Bruns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bruns, was born at Charlotte on July 21, 1877, and was united in marriage at Charlotte, in February 1877 [*sic], to Mr. Albert Ommen, and to this union seven children were born. She was attacked by appendicitis and, for a time, it was not known what her ailment was and the disease was allowed to run too long before an operation was decided upon. When brought to the hospital she was a very sick woman and grave doubts were entertained for her recovery. She rallied from the operation but was in such a weakened condition that nature could not effect a cure.
She is survived by the sorrowing husband, seven children -- Esther, Willie, Clarence, Marie, Alvin, Emily and Ethel, the eldest being seventeen years and the youngest nineteen months. She is also survived by three brothers and one sister, as follows: Fred Bruns of Clay Center, Kans.; John Bruns of Clay Center, Kan.; Frank Bruns, Richie, Ill., and Mrs. William Stahl of Cullum.
Mrs. Ommen was a woman who was highly respected by all her acquaintances, a most excellent wife and mother and was really loved. _____ family and friends and her loss is deeply mourned.
The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at Charlotte on May 11, Rev's. Kneppe and Hand officiating, and the funeral was largely attended. The interment was in the Chatsworth cemetery. The pall bearers were Lonia Decker, Frank Saathoff, John Clausin, Willis Corbin, Ezra Hack and Herman Gerdes.
