WELL-KNOWN MAN, CALLED BY DEATH
Earl Kleppinger passed away at 4 o'clock this morning at his home 930 South 17th street after an illness extending over a period of several weeks. Mr. Kleppinger has been in failing health for several months, and while his death was not wholly unexpected at this time, it comes as a great shock to his friends and relatives.
Deceased was born December 18, 1883 at Cedarville and was married May 17, 1911 to Miss Mabel Singer, of Warren. To this union were born two children, Lois and Kenneth, both of whom are left to mourn the loss of their beloved father. He is survived by three sisters, Misses Laura and Allen, of Chicago, and Mrs. Leonard Althoff, of Lancaster, two brothers, Roy and Virgin, living at home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Kleppinger, who also survive.
Mr. Kleppinger has been a prominent member of the Odd Fellows. He was Past Noble Grand of EWinneshiek Lodge No. 30, of which he was a member, Past Chief Patriarch of Western Star Encampment No. 25 of which he was also a member. For a number of years he served on the board of directors of the I. O. O. F. temple.
Funeral services will be held at the late home at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. W. Rex, pastor of the First English Lutheran church will officiate and burial will be made at Oakland.
The services will be in charge of the Odd Fellows.
