Ellen came to America from Wales in 1869 with her parents, Rowland and Ellen (---) MORGAN, and 1-yr-old sister Elizabeth C. Morgan. By the 1870 census, the family had settled on a farm in Jackson Twp, Lyon Co KS. Jackson Twp at that time was predominantly Welsh, so much so that Jerry Cupp's non-Welsh niece (my gm) grew up believing she too was Welsh.
Jerry and Ellen had one child, daughter Phyllis E. Cupp, born in March 1895. After Ellen's death, Jerry put the baby Phyllis up for adoption, but by the 1900 census she was living with him and second wife Mary (Hummer-Whelan) in Topeka KS. She then disappears in subsequent censuses, and nothing else is known of her by this researcher.
