She was born May 20, 1922, in Hazel Park, Mich., and moved to California when she was 12.
She spent her early youth in San Francisco, marrying and having her three daughters.
A loving, devoted Mom and Gramma, her joys were being with her family, gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, and reading her Bible.
Alice worked at Hughes Aircraft in Southern California from 1965 to 1979. She had been a resident of Libertyville, for the past 19 years.
Alice is survived by her three daughters, Marcy (Ron) Kent and Susan (Art) Kiehn, both of Fresno, Calif. and Sally (Jon) Slaughter of Libertyville; eight grandchildren, Joey, (Alicia), Brandon (Melissa), Jason (Naomi), Elizabeth (Andrew), Jonathan and Matthew, and Tracy and Ryan (Teresa); nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Albert (Victoria) and Harry Markus Jr. (Jan); and sisters-in-law, Lena and Judy Markus.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents, Harry and Mary Markus; and brother, Robert Markus.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville.
A visitation following a graveside service in Fresno at Belmont Memorial Park, will be held on Friday, July 15.
