Died in a house fire with her grandmother Anna Schipman Boldt

Martin, Obera Phyllis

11 Nov., 1925 - The Pilot

ARLINGTON NEWS

The people of this community very sorrowfully learned of the death of Mrs. William Boldt, of Hooper, and her granddaughter, Miss Obera Martin, of Fremont, at Hooper, early Friday morning. Mrs. Boldt and her granddaughter had retired late having visited friends in the evening. About 2:30 it was discovered that the house was afire, and when found both had been suffocated to death. It was thought that the kitchen stove had been the cause. They had been awakened by the fire and had tried to escape by the stairway which was impossible. They were overcome before they could get to a window. Mrs. Boldt was the mother of Alfred Boldt, the Arlington telephone manager. The family has the sympathy of the entire community.
