Peacefully on June 30, 1979 Following a brief illness, at the Health Sciences Centre, Aubrey Allan, aged 70 years, beloved husband of Jeanne Allan of 315 Sackville Street. Born in Tidnish, Nova Scotia, he came to Manitoba as a child & had remained in Winnipeg since that time. During his working life, Aubrey was involved in the automotive trades. He was the original owner & manager of Allan's Auto Service & later Allan's Alignment & Brake Service. He was an ardent sportsman & hunter, past member of the Manitoba Game & Fish Association, an active member of Charleswood Golf Club, Thistle Curling Club & a Charter member of the Manitoba Classic & Antique Auto Club. Besides his wife, Aubrey is survived by his son, Keith; twin daughters, Marilyn & Lori, & son-in-law Alan Hayes. Also surviving are sisters, Mrs.Maude Hawkins of Calgary, Mrs.Arvella Koblun of Dryden & Mrs.Helen Banush, Mrs.Edith Ousey, Mrs.Ilene Marshall, & brothers, Sydney & Percy Allan, all of Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held in the Thomson Funeral Chapels, Broadway at Furby, on Wed, July 4, at 3:30 pm. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the chapels from 7-9 pm Tuesday (tonight). Active pallbearers will be Messrs. David McDonald of Penticton, BC, Gordon Wood, Gavin Wood, Bob Johnston, Charles Saladin & David Friesen, all of Winnipeg. Honorary pallbearers will be Messrs. Fred Roscoe, Donald Macdonald, Jack Webster, Jack Millar, Ross Kelly, Howard Welsh, Cecil Neve, & Ernest Gendreau, all of Winnipeg. Aubrey will be sadly missed by his family & many friends.
