Ezra was the 6th of 8 children of Ezekiel and Susannah. He came west with his mother and siblings in abt. 1837 and settled in Woodstock where he remained the rest of his life. Ezra married Amy Miller, probably in Phelps, NY and they were the parents of 6 children: Wardell W. who married Jennie Stone, Andrew J., Phebe who married William W. Smith, Mary who married David Bevins, Orlando who married Cordelia Stone, and Betsey. He never remarried after Amy died and was found in 1850, 1860 and 1870 living with his children. Ezra died in Woodstock, 66 years, 3 months and 9 days old.
