David Law Creighton. He was born 29 September 1863 in Waterford, New Brunswick, Canada. His parents were William H., who had been born in 1835 in New Brunswick, and Isabella M. (nee Law; b. 1838 in New Brunswick) Creighton. His known brothers and sisters were Henry, b. 1865, Jane, b. 1866, Wilford, b. 1868, Sarah, b. 1869, Saprus, b. 1874, and Herbert, b. 1878. In 1891, he lived in Nova Scotia. He married Bertha Jane Dixon on 20 October 1892 in Wooddall, Oxford, Ontario. He and Bertha had at least five children; Wilfred Dixon, b. 23 September 1893 in Ontario, Edith Theresa, b. May 1895 in New Brunswick, William Henry, b. 16 November 1897 in New Brunswick, Arthur, b. June 1906 in Quebec, and Cyrus Clifford, b. 5 October 1909 in Ontario. In 1911, the Creighton family lived at 136 Hogant (?) Street in Toronto. Mr. Creighton was described as a Salvation Army Officer at the time. In 1914, Mr. and Mrs. Creighton were going to the International Salvation Army congress in London, England and had booked passage on the Empress of Ireland. Their tickets for the ship were issued at Toronto. Both were lost when the ship sank. He was head of the immigration department for the Salvation Army in Canada.
