James Elexander Simmons [known as "El"] and his first wife Corrine are buried just to the left of their son Albert Simmons. There are two cement posts in the ground marking their graves. In 1977, their son William Houston Simmons, pointed out these two graves to me.

FUNERAL FOR J.E. SIMMONS
Burial rites for J.E. Simmons, 67-year-old farmer, were held at the Grantham cemetery, with the Reverend Lott in charge, at 2 p.m. today. Mr. Simmons died at 12, noon, Tuesday at his residence on Route Four, Hattiesburg. Surviving are his wife, several children and other relatives.
