Dr. A. G. Eaddy Dies Last Night
Funeral Services of Well Known Physician Held on Saturday Morning
Dr. Albert Golden Eaddy, 56, beloved physician of Johnsonville, died at his home last night at 9:00 o'clock.
Dr. Eaddy had been in failing health for several years although he had refused to give up his practice. Ten days ago, while ministering to a patient, he was stricken acutely ill. Some hope for his recovery was held up to yesterday but a sudden change toward evening brought the end.
A native of Johnsonville, Dr. Eaddy received his acedemic education at Clemson College and his medical degree at the University of the South. Returning to South Carolina, he practiced for a while in Lake City and Timmonsville, only to return to his home town in 1913, where he had been living ever since.
Respected and loved by all who knew him, Dr. Eaddy's loss will be felt throughout the state. His colleagues in the medical profession considered him one of the best and many thought of him as the ideal family physician.
His co-workers in the Florence County Medical Society, of which he was president at the time of his death,mourn the passing of one of their beloved members. His was a life of devoted service to the high ideals of medicine and of Christian living.
Surviving Dr. Eaddy are his wife, the former Miss Lula Simmons of Johnsonville and the following sons: Dr. Albert Mae Eaddy of Augusta, Watsen Eaddy, Dr. Norman Eaddy, Herman Eaddy and Edward Eaddy all of Johnsonville.
The funeral services will be held at Johnsonville at eleven o'clock Saturday morning.
