Mary Hess Stroher, wife of John Stroher, died at Danville, Pa November 21 after she had become ill with pneumonia. The funeral was held Thursday, November 24 from Mr. Stroher's home, interment being made in the Champlin Cemetery. She was forty eight years of age.

She had been institutionalized at the Danville Hospital for the Insane for the past 11 or 12 years after the demise of her 7-year old son who, while at play was engaged in rolling a hoop and had chased it onto the B&S RR right of way. Little Ross was one step from clearing the track in safety when he became bewildered and started to return. He took two steps and had passed the rails when the cow catcher hit him a glancing blow knocking his feet from under him and he fell outside the rail, but with his head close to the shining band of steel. The connecting rod on that side of the engine plunged downward, dealing him an awful blow on the head.
