Norman F. Waugh
Norman F. Waugh, 94, of Route 3, Box 344H, Buckhannon, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his home.
He was born June 5, 1910, at Eden, the son of the late Foster Waugh and Edith Sines Waugh.
On Jan. 12, 1929, he married Ruby Hamner Waugh, who survives.
Surviving are two sisters, Geraldine Bailey of Parkersburg and Celia Beachler of Weston; three brothers, Denzil Waugh of Buckhannon, Herbert Darrell Waugh of Weston and James Eugene Waugh of Weston; two grandsons, Mark Waugh of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert Waugh of Weston; one granddaughter, Cheryl Steele of Columbus, Ohio; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Waugh; two sisters, Lola Luzader and Elsie Quinn; and one brother, Oscar Waugh.
He was a glassworker for Louie Glass. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the oldest World War II veteran in Upshur County.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Lejeune Lewis will officiate and interment will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery.
