THE DEATH OF MARTHA BAER
Died, at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, from heart disease, at her home in Lauramie township, Mrs Martha Baer, widow of the late J H Baer. She seemed well as usual a few moments before her death - was about doing housework, and had set down in an arm chair when her son noticed her head drop forward, and before medical aid could be summoned she was dead. Mrs Baer has been a resident of the county for over fifty years. She was left a widow with a large family twenty five years ago, but reared her children with honor to her and to themselves. Deceased was for many years a member of the Christian Church. She was much beloved by everybody, and her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends. The funeral takes place from the late residence of the deceased, Thursday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev Joseph Davis, of Thorntown officiating. (Lafayette, Indiana, newspaper, Monday, November 28, 1881)
