was born September 1, 1917 in Horry County, a daughter of the late Bert and
Effie Jeanette Johnson Johnson. She was a retired farmer. She had been a
resident at the health care facility in Florence for 5 years. Mrs. Gibson was a
member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church. Surviving Mrs. Gibson are: her
Children: Leta Mae (Albert) Johnson of Galivants Ferry, Joe (Virginia) Gibson of
Conway, Esteline (George) Hucks of Florence, Lucy (Jimmy) Watkins of Florence,
Jimmy (Audrey) Johnson of Galivants Ferry and Joey (Lorra Ann) Johnson of
Galivants Ferry: 12 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren: and 11 Great Great
Grandchildren. Mrs. Gibson was predeceased by her husband, Gonzale Gibson, in
1974 and a son, Geck Gibson in 1989. She was also predeceased by 3 brothers,
Wylie Johnson, Hugie Johnson and Ivey Johnson, and a sister, Isabell Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 22, at Rehoboth
United Methodist Church, with Rev. John Watts officiating. Burial will follow in
Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at
Cox-Collins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rehoboth
United Methodist Church, of Rehoboth United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2804
