Mrs. Brackenbury, 79, of Rochester, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.
Phyllis was born September 16, 1931 in Spring Valley, MN. to Wilbur and Hazel Lenz Rathbun. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1949. She started work at 1st National Bank Rochester on June 4, 1949. August 8, 1959 she married Fergus "Bud" Brackenbury. Bud died August 27, 2003. Bud retired from Clements Chevrolet, and Mrs. Brackenbury retired July 1, 1993 as a personal banker at 1st Bank of Rochester.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She served in different areas and was a member of the Business & Professional Women and the National Association of Banking Women. She also served on the Salvation Army board for 9 Years.
She is survived by 2 sisters; Lucille Kimball and Evelyn Rathbun both of Rochester and 2 brothers; Jerry (Janet) Rathbun and Vic (Eileen) Rathbun both of Spring Valley, MN; step-daughter, Diana ( John) Madden of Arkansas, 2 step grandchildren, 3 step great grand children, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a nephew.
Memorial are preferred to Mayo Foundation Center for Cancer Diabetes & Leukemia Research.
