May 12, 1892:

Old Citizen Gone. On May 5 A.J. Lowe 72, died at his home west of Alicevile after an illness of several weeks.
He was a resident of Coffey Co for a number of years.
He was the father of a large family all having reached adulthood. Rev. Jackson of LeRoy preached the funeral, The the Masonic Fraternity took charge of the remains.
He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
