"John Hardin was born in Fauquier, Prince William, Virginia, United States. He was the son of Major John Hardin (1710 – 1789) and Catherine Marr Hardin (1711 – 1786). He married Isabella Strawbridge (1733-1814) at Faquier, Prince William, Virginia, United States on May 3,1751. Isabella was the daughter of Christopher Strawbridge. Don't know her mother's name.

John & Isabella had the following known children: Jack Hardin 1751 – 1818; Isabel Hardin 1752 – 1757; Cato Hardin 1754 – 1779; Elizabeth Hardin 1757 –, Nestor Hardin 1759 – 1839; Hector Hardin 1762 – 1800; John Hardin 1762 – 1853; William Henry Hardin 1766 – 1825; Absolom Hardin 1767 – 1850; Mariam Hardin 1768 – 1850; Matilda Hardin 1772 –; Mary Ann Hardin 1775; George Hardin 1776 – 1854; Elizabeth Hardin 1778 – 1779; Mehelia Hardin 1778 – and Alice Alcy Hardin 1783 – 1823.
