Claude R. Cook

Claude R.Cook of 880 E. 4th St., retired railroad man died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday at the family home.

Mr. Cook was born in Osceola, Iowa. On Feb. 24, 1910 he married Mary L. Hathaway in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He was employed by the Chicago, Burlington Railroad for 24 years before coming to Pomona from Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1943. As a Pomona resident he worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for a year before his retirement. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary L. Cook, e is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Herman Banks of Claremont, Mrs. Garnet Carlson of Poona and Mrs. Richard Demers of Alameda; two sons, Earl R. Cook of Seattle, Wash., and Charles L. Cook of La Verne; a brother, Thomas Cook of La Grange, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hays of Wilmington 11 grandchildren and fir great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Todd Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ernest W. Morrison, pastor of the Free Methodist Church of Poona , officiating. Interment will be in Pomona Cemetery.
