IN MEMORIAM
Dewitt Walton Bailey was born in Caledonia, Mississippi, June 22, 1900. He came to Eutaw, Alabama in 1929. He was married to Miss Ruth Vaughn July 8, 1934. They have one daughter, Mrs. Willice Lashley. He united with our church September 25, 1935. He was ordained a deacon August 29, 1943. He was Sunday School Superintendent from 1949-1951. He served as Superintendent of the Senior Adult Department for more than eleven years. He served as Church Clerk from 1956 until 1962; he became Church Treasurer in 1967 which post he was holding at the time of his death. He passed away July 5, 1973. He also served as Brotherhood President and for more than thirty years he helped with the Sunday School records. A loyal, faithful and dedicated church member--one that will be greatly missed by the Eutaw Baptist Church.
He worked for forty four years as a Public Accountant in Eutaw and endeared himself to all who knew him.
He was a man of deep convictions and was a staunch supporter of the Church and the denominational program.
This Memorial was approved by the Eutaw Baptist Church in the monthly business meeting, Wednesday night, August 15, 1973.
