Theodore "Tate" Stranghoener, son of the late Joseph and Lizzie Stranghoener, was born April 12, 1887, on the farm near Gerald where he spent his entire life.
On June 15, 1911, he was united in marriage with Florence Kriebaum of Gerald. To this union nine children were born.
In failing health for the past five years, Mr. Stranghoener passed away last Monday August 15, 1960.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; four sons, Elmer, Lester, Olin and Roy all of Gerald; five daughters, Leona Stranghoener and Anna Dunbeck of Belridge, Mo., Nora Stranghoener and Bernice Scherer of Gerald, and Delores Koepke of Owensville; two daughters-in-law; three sons-in-law; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. August Brauks; a brother, Herman, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Meyer Funeral Home in Gerald with burial in the Stone Church Cemetery north of Gerald.
