The Anthon Herald, 17 April 1963, page 1: Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Dicus, 93, who died at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday, April 10, 1963, were held Friday afternoon, April 12, at the Assembly of God Central Church with Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Manning-O'Toole funeral Home. Pallbearers were five grandsons: Wilbert Tuttle, Gene Burright, William Dicus Jr., Marvin Dicus and George Admire. Mrs. Dicus, who resided with a daughter, Mrs. Paul Barnett, 1206 Iowa St., had been ill for a year. She was born February 14, 1870, in Anthon. She was a lifelong resident of Woodbury County, residing in Sioux City for 33 years. Mrs. Dicus, the former Minnie McNear, married Benjamin Dicus July 2, 1891, in Anthon. He came to Woodbury County in 1863 traveling from Ohio in a covered wagon. He died April 28, 1943, in Sioux City. She was a member of the Assembly of God Central Church. Survivors include two sons, James H. and William B., both of Sioux City; five daughters, Mrs. Jennie Admire of Joplin, Missouri; Mrs. Rosie Cadwell, Mrs. Jane Barnett and Mrs. Hazel Burright, all of Sioux City; and Mrs. Della Admire of Cherokee; a brother, Fred McNear of Sioux City, 38 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
