Howe Woman Dies After Long Illness
Howe-Mrs. Claude (Opal) Gage Antonides, 74, died at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at her home here. She had been ill two years.
She was born in Plato, Ind., July 28, 1884, to Orin and Hanna (Fish) Gage. She was married Aug. 3, 1904 to Claude Antonides, of Howe.
Surviving are the husband; five sons, Gerald of LaGrange; Donald of Elkhart; Paul of Sturgis, Michigan; Dale of Howe; and Claude Jr. of South Bend; one daughter Mrs. Marguerite Black of North Webster, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Floyd of Mishawaka; and a sister Mrs . Archie Patten of Elkhart.
Mrs. Antonides was a member of the Methodist Church in Howe, and WSCS and WCTU.
The body is at the Shoup Funeral Home here where friends may call beginning Friday noon, and until Saturday noon.
Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Methodist Church here. The Rev. Willis Gierhart of Monroe, Ind., will officiate and burial will be made in Riverside cemetery.
