Gary L. Toney, 55, of Logan, formerly of Townsend, passed away Friday morning in Three Forks.
Mr. Toney was born Jan. 9, 1941 in Townsend to Lloyd and Abbie (Pennington) Toney.
He was raised in Townsend and Logan and received his education in Logan.

Toney farmed and worked as a mechanic in Townsend area for many years. He then worked in Nevada before returning to Montana. He moved to Logan area in the early 1900's, where he had worked as a bartender and handyman for the Steer In and the Town Club.
He also farmed for wheat in Montana and worked for Garwin Jevning Construction.

He married Ada Lenore Johnson in Tonwsend, and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.

Toney loved to hunt and pull a good prank. He enjoyed making people smile.

Survivors include his parents, Abbie and Hank Hays of Logan; three sons and daughters- in-law, Wade and Sheri Toney of Townsend, Wes and Brenda Toney of Helena, and Nicholas and Kristie Toney of Carlin, Nevada; sisters and brothers, Gail Toney of Missoula, Wendy Evans of Manhattan, Julie Toney Dolan of Helena, Bart Toney of Helena, and Shawn Toney of Helena; and numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5, at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tonwsend; Rev. Brenda Richer officiated.

Internment followed in Deep Creek Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ron Toney, Kevin Toney, Dana Toney, Robert Hoppe, Lucky Flynn, and Bill Todd.
Honorary Bearers were LeMoine Wick and Bernie Lewis. Bob Montanya provided music for the service.
