Floyd was born on February 17, 1905 on a 40 acre farm that his parents rented outside of Thorp, he was the seventh child of Andrew Brenner and Alma Weiland.

Floyd and Deloris (Knapp) were married on June 19, 1937 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gilman. After they married, they settled on Floyd's farm and began to raise a family.

Floyd Andrew Jr. was born on the farm on May 18, 1939. Melvin Emery ws born on December 1, 1940. Ronald James was born on March 8, 1944 and Irene Cecelia was born on April 6, 1951.

Floyd died on November 13, 1975 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
