George P. Wright, 68 of 305 Meadow Lane, died Sunday, March 28, 1982, at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City with Rev. S. Willard Cunningham, pastor, officiating. Graveside committal services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery, Spencer. Masonic services were held at 7:30 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home.

Mr. Wright graduated from high school in Correctionville in 1932. He was a general tire representative for Sidles Company of Des Moines for 15 years. He was the son of Oscar and Addie (Parks) Wright.

He married Lee V. Steely on December 28, 1963, at Sioux Falls, SD. In 1969 they moved from Des Moines to Mason City where he worked as manager of Sidles Automotive Co. until his retirement in 1978. For the past 4 years he had worked part-time as a salesman for Tom Hovland Enterprises, Mason City. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mason City; Benevolence Lodge 145 AF&AM; the Royal Select Masters of Iowa 46; the Royal Select Master of Iowa, Antioch Commandery 43, and the Mason City Council 45. He was also a member of the ZaGa-Zig Shrine Temple, Des Moines, Mobile Nobel Unit, Des Moines; High Twelve. He was a member and past president of the North Iowa Shrine Club of Iowa and the Mason City Sertoma Club.

He is survived by his wife, Lee V. Wright of Mason City; 2 daughters, Mrs. Gary (Sharon) Silence of Dumfries, VA, and Mrs. Derald (Ann) Bolin of Mesa, AZ; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gerald (Jackie) Kisecker of Sioux Falls, SD; 1 son, James Wright of Mesa, AZ; 2 stepsons, Roger Steely of Spencer and Richard Steely of Des Moines; 4 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren.
