Marvin was the son of John Franklin and Caroline "Callie" (Hines) Brown. He was the brother of George "Willie" Brown, Rufus A. Brown, and Effie Frances (Brown) Ballard.

1st wife: Marvin married Mary Lou (Cooper) in May, 1910. They had ten children together.

Marvin and Mary Lou moved with their youngest five children to Lake Co., Indiana in the mid to late 1930's. Several of the older children soon followed; some with their spouses, and most of the family remained living in Indiana for many years.

Marvin had several occupations over the years, but one of his most colorful ones was "Bootlegger". He and one of his sons, Lyman "Os", were bootleggers in Kentucky for many years!

Several years after his first wife Mary Lou's death, Marvin moved back to Kentucky to live with family. This is where he met his second wife, Mabel.

2nd wife: Mabel Petty Foreman
(Mabel would not allow Marvin to be buried with his first wife, Mary Lou)

When Marvin was about the age of 83 he accepted the Lord Jesus as his Saviour and is now and forever residing in heavens glorious splendor.
