Our beloved mom, sister, grandma, and friend has been reunited with her husband for all eternity on July 17, 2011.

Betty was born December 8, 1927 to Joseph Henry and Sarah Beatrice Bess Cox in San Bernardino, CA. She graduated from Davis High School. She was a Staff Sgt. in the United States Air Force serving from 1950-1954.

Betty married James Ellis Wamsley on July 23, 1956 in Salt Lake City and was later sealed on June 12, 1982 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1991.

She had a love for animals and would adopt all the strays her children brought home. She always had a beautiful yard and spent many happy years tending her garden.

Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings and loved serving in the Jordan River Temple with her husband. She will be missed by many family, friends, and neighbors.

Survived by her children, Joseph (Karen) Wamsley of Riverton; Rebecca (Ernest) Forsberg of Smithfield; grandchildren, Jim, Jeff, and Ben Wamsley; Chris, Justin, Jennifer, Brandon, and Candace Taggart; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie (Grant) Christensen; brother, Kenneth (Helen) Cox. Preceded in death by her husband, Jim; brothers, Lon, Darrell and Leonard; sister, Donna; grandson, Adam.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Sandy, Utah Central Stake Center, 1050 East Galena. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Interment: Bountiful Memorial Park.
