Absalum Foutz Eckley, 18, died Sunday, June 12, at his home two miles southwest of Carrollton following a short illness. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Eckley; three sisters, Frances, Helen and Shirley; three brothers, Ralph, William and Robert, and a grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Eckley, all of the home. He was a member of the Carrollton Methodist Episcopal Church. Services were held Wednesday afternoon at the home, with later services at Carrollton Methodist Church, Rev. F. A. Gilmore officiating. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery.
