TEXAS CITY — Maria Chapa Perez, 90, of Texas City, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2008, at Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City.

A Funeral Mass will be held celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Perez was born April 29, 1918, in Penitas, Texas. She was retired from the Fork & Spoon restaurant and Mainland Laundry. She was a member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church and the senior citizens program at Nessler Center.

Survivors include her sons Robert Perez and wife Gloria and David Perez and wife Anasticia, all of Texas City; daughter Maria E. Rodriguez and husband Lazaro of Texas City; grandchildren Ami Perez, Robert J. Perez, Jimi Ray Martinez and Stacey Martinez; numerous great-grandchildren; a sister Mercedes Avila of Mercedes, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Perez, Hector Perez, Julian Cantu, Robert Cantu, Daniel Ivy, and Jimi Ray Martinez.
